Affiliate disclosure

Our team may earn commissions from product links once affiliate programs approve the site. There are no live affiliate links in this version, and guides are criteria-based, not product tests.

Right now

There are no affiliate links, ads, sponsored posts, or paid placements on this site in this version. No product is named as a recommendation.

If affiliate links are added

Our team may earn commissions once affiliate programs (such as Amazon Associates) approve this site. Until then, the product-link spots on our buying guides stay hidden and no link earns anything. When links go live, if you buy through one of them, the team may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

In line with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s guidance on endorsements, that relationship will be disclosed plainly, on this page and near the links themselves, before the first link on each page. Each buying guide already carries that note at the top.

The Amazon Associates statement will be added here when that account is active.

How guides are written: criteria, not testing

Our gear guides explain what to look for in a type of product, such as a cold pack, an elevation wedge, or a pill organizer, and who it may suit. Recommendations are criteria-based. The team has not tested, rated, or reviewed specific products for these guides, and the guides do not claim otherwise. There are no star ratings, no “best overall” picks, and no hands-on test results.

The criteria come from practical comfort and safety points, and, where a medical point is involved, from the public sources listed on Sources. A product type appears because it fits the criteria, not because it pays more. A commission rate is never a reason to include, rank, or describe something.

Nothing on a gear guide treats gout. Products support rest, ice, elevation, or a routine a clinician has already set. If something on a guide seems to conflict with what your clinician told you, follow your clinician.

Questions about this policy

If you think a page falls short of this disclosure, the contact page explains how to reach us. Corrections are logged on What’s new.

A commission is not a medical claim

A commission never changes a medical claim. It is not a reason to call something a treatment, and it is not a reason to soften a warning. This site will not link products that claim to cure gout, flush or detox the body, dissolve crystals, or replace medical care. The full list is on Gear, and the writing rules are in the editorial policy.
